Add an AI voice agent to your website

You can put a VoiceScholr agent on any website in three ways: send its link, paste an iframe into a page, or add one script line that shows a floating Talk button on every page. Visitors need no app or account.

Before you start

  1. Open your agent and turn on Public link in the Agent tab. The Share & embed tab then shows the link and the embed code.
  2. Your agent's slug is the last part of its link: in voicescholr.org/a/your-agent it is your-agent.
  3. Add your site under Allowed websites in the Agent tab, one per line, like shop.com. *.shop.com covers subdomains such as www.shop.com but not shop.com itself, so list both. Up to 10. Left empty, any site can embed your agent and use your free calls.

Option 1: share the link

Send https://voicescholr.org/a/your-agent in an email or a text, put it on your help page, or print it as a QR code on a box. The browser asks for the camera and microphone only when the visitor presses Talk, and they can start without the camera.

Option 2: embed it in a page

Paste this where the agent should appear, with your slug in place of your-agent:

<iframe src="https://voicescholr.org/embed/your-agent"
  allow="camera; microphone; display-capture; autoplay"
  width="400" height="560" style="border:0;border-radius:16px"></iframe>
  • Keep the allow attribute. Without it the browser blocks the camera and microphone inside the frame.
  • Use your site builder's HTML block: Code Embed in Webflow, the Custom HTML block in WordPress, Embed in Framer.

Option 3: a Talk button on every page

Paste this one line into your site's shared template, just before </body>, or into the "footer code" setting your site builder offers:

<script src="https://voicescholr.org/widget.js"
  data-agent="your-agent" async></script>
  • A button appears at the bottom right. Pressing it opens your agent in a side panel; on screens under 480 px wide the panel fills the screen.
  • The call loads on the first press, so page views cost nothing.
  • Closing the panel only hides it: a live call keeps going until the visitor ends it.
  • The button offers voice and camera, never screen sharing.
  • The agent is told which page the visitor has open (its address and title), so it can answer about that page.

Script settings

AttributeNeeded?What it does
data-agentYesYour agent's slug: lowercase letters, numbers and hyphens, 3 to 60 characters.
data-labelNoThe button's text. Default: "Talk to us".
data-customer-nameNoA signed-in visitor's first name, so the agent can greet them by name. Never put an email or anything else here. On Shopify, see the Shopify guide.

If something doesn't work

  • The embed is blank or the browser says it refused to connect. Your site isn't in Allowed websites (check www.), or Public link is off.
  • The browser console says [VoiceScholr] widget.js needs data-agent="<your agent slug>". The slug is missing or misspelled.
  • The camera or microphone never asks. The iframe is missing its allow attribute, or your site sends a Permissions-Policy header that turns the camera off (some headless stores do). Send the share link instead.
  • "All lines busy, retrying…" Many calls are running at once. The Talk screen retries on its own for about a minute.
